Large rooms with a great view of Barcelona

Located only a short drive from the city centre, these rooms give you views of the Mediterranean Sea without the price tag that’s usually attached. But you’ll have trouble walking from here to the main tourist attractions.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the double room which was surprisingly large. There’s enough room in here to fit the whole family! The bathroom is another story though. The bathroom we had was one of the worst we’d come across in all of Europe. Between the small and leaking shower and a window which looks into your neighbour’s bathroom should they both be open, there’s plenty of room for improvement.

If you’re in need of extra towels and blankets they’re stored in a large wardrobe, along with a personal safe which comes with a warning not to use. Apparently the staff here are very unreliable, at least that’s what we were told. Throughout the hotel you’ll spot signs warning of the dangers of theft which occurs within the hotel. We weren’t robbed of anything but it did put us a little on edge.

The buffet breakfast we had was really good and the staff we met were very nice. It’s hard to believe that some of them may have been snooping through our valuables.

Nevertheless we survived the two night stay and we didn’t lose a thing.

I give Hotel Catalonia Park Putxet Barcelona two stars.
